#blogeatblog

A great thing has been taking place down at Brick lane these last few weeks. The clever chap behind Big Apple Hotdogs decided that it was time that bloggers put their reputation where their mouth is.

In an open invitation to the blogging community, Abiye, founder of Big Apple Hotdogs sought to pit blogger against blogger in a 'winner takes all' competition. The objective, to devise the best hotdog topping for his dogs. No limits.

The reception has been fantastic. Bloggers from all fields have spent time and money carefully crafting their recipes, turning up on a Sunday afternoon and even stepping up to serve their topping to hoards of hungry hungry hipsters.

Always up for a challenge, I decided to enter and for Heat #2 (alongside Ian, Simon and Adam) devised a devilish Smoked Beetroot Mayo partnered with Kiwi Pinot Reduction.

On the day, the competition was tough but the sauces were well received. The winners of heat 2 are still being decided. With any luck i'll have the chance to try my hand in the impending final.

For those who haven't made it down, there's good news - you haven't missed out yet. There are still a few rounds of the competition left, not to mention the grand finale (date still TBC). To find out when and where, follow Big Apple Hotdogs on twitter or tune in to the twitter hashtag #blogeatblog. Until then, enjoy the photos from the first 3 heats. See you at the next one.
